The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals

Certification of pool and spa installers is one of the most important programs that The Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (APSP) offers to members. These certifications give professionals an advantage in a competitive marketplace. APSP wanted to create an advertising campaign that would showcase the many benefits provided by their education and certification programs.

Rings Leighton invented “Max”, a novice pool and spa professional, and chronicled his ascent to success through mastery of APSP certification programs. Our custom illustrations document Max’s adventures and mimic the pop art style of Roy Lichtenstein. The ads designed for this campaign were made into a flipbook and also adapted for myriad trade show components including life-size cardboard cutouts, exhibit panels, banners and promotional items.
